The Forest Red Gum is a magnificent shade tree with dark green foliage and a dark brownish-grey trunk. It grows naturally throughout Gippsland, at times being referred to as the “Gippsland Red Gum”. It will grow in any soil type, as long as some water is available, but will thrive in wet ground. It produces a beautiful creamy-white flower in the summer time, but looks amazing year-round. The Forest Red Gum is a very hardy tree, which will grow quickly to suit its environment in all growing conditions. Protect your cattle from the summer heat with a magnificent Forest Red Gum.
This tree is predominantly used in reserves, parks and gardens, and as a shade tree on farms. It thrives in wet soil conditions, but will grow in most well drained soils also.
