The Snow Gum is a popular native, grown throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania, and occurs up to an altitude of about 1500m. The Snow Gum has a beautiful bluey-grey smooth bark, and produces a beautiful creamy white flower with a vibrant pink stamen, which appear in October through to January. The Snow Gum creates a nice spreading canopy, making an excellent small shade tree in areas with height restrictions. It is fast growing, requires very little maintenance, is drought, frost, wind and water-logging tolerant, and will thrive in most soil conditions, making it ideal for most sites.
This tree is predominantly used in streetscapes, parks, and gardens, and thrives in most soil conditions. Makes an excellent shade.
