The E. Leucoxylon Megalocarpa is a subspecies of the E. Leucoxylon. It produces beautiful pink flowers in the late Autumn, and into the early Summer. It will grow 6-8 metres tall, and 4-6 metres wide, making it perfect for sites with height and width restrictions, whilst still providing a beautiful flowering shade tree with a dense canopy. The Megalocarpa is a wonderful tree to attract native birds to your garden, creating a colourful atmosphere of both sight and sound. It is both drought and frost tolerant, and will survive in most soil types including heavy clay soils, but will thrive in an area with well drained soil. The smooth cream bark, alongside with the narrow green leaves, make this tree stand out from the rest during flowering season as a vibrant display of colour.
This tree is predominantly used in streetscapes, parks, and gardens, and thrives in most soil conditions. Flowers best in full sun.
