The Spotted Gum is a medium to tall sized shade tree with dark green foliage and a spotted trunk. It produces a beautiful creamy-white flower and the summer time, and has a smooth, non-shedding bark year round. It grows natively in sandy soils, however tolerates heavy clay soils also. It is susceptible to frost at a young age, typically under 1m tall, however as it grows it will become more tolerant. The spotted gum is also drought tolerant, and provides for a very aesthetically pleasing tree. The Spotted Gum can be found throughout Victoria and New South Wales.
This tree is predominantly used in streetscapes, parks and gardens, and thrives in most well drained soil conditions.
