The Angophera Hispida is a small, spreading tree growing to a height of up to 6m. Like it's taller cousin, the Angophera Costata, the bark often displays a furrowed appearance, and is of a brownish grey in colour. However, once shed, the new bark comes through with an astonishing pink, that looks magnificent throughout the year. With dark green and lance-shaped leaves, the Dwarf Apple Gum produces large amounts of small white flowers that will attract a large array of parrots and alike to your property, inviting a magnificient display of sight and sound. This tree will thrive in many soil conditions, including sites with a high sand content, but will not tolerate waterlogging. Young Angophera under 1m tall may be susceptible to frost, however, advanced trees will tolerate it. Once established, the tree will grow quickly with minimal assistance.
This tree is predominantly used in streetscapes, parks and gardens, and thrives in most soil conditions, including sandy soils.
