Originally found on the sand plains of Western Australia, the Willow Myrtle has adapted well and now thrives in many parts of south eastern Australia. Willow Myrtle tend to flower in late spring, when it develops beautiful small white flowers, which emit a fragrant scent. The tree itself grows into a nice round-headed tree with weeping branches and narrow, light green foliage. It is tolerant of most Victorian soils, but tends to prefer sandy soil.
This tree is predominantly used in streetscapes, parks and gardens, and thrives in sandy/poorly drained soil conditions. It is also salt and frost tolerant
